Healthy Soils, At the Root of Healthy Livestock

Healthy Soils, At the Root of Healthy Livestock

Farmer-led Educational Event

Join us on Friday, June 14th in Mount Olive for a farmer-led event focused on the connection between healthy soil and healthy livestock! Learn how to measure and manage for soil health on your farm and share ideas with other producers who are focused on building healthy soils on their farms!

Here are just a few of the benefits you will receive from attending the event:

  • Learn how to use simple, effective tools to track soil health and long-term progress on your farm.

  • Understand the connection between soil health and nutritional quality and why it matters for customers purchasing from your farm.

  • Learn from one of the top silvopasture companies in the U.S. about using trees to raise healthier, more profitable livestock.

  • See soil health practices in action on two farms and learn first-hand about the tools and strategies for managing livestock to build the soil.

  • Most importantly, connect and share ideas with other farmers in North Carolina who are focused on managing their farms to protect and improve the soil!

Members of the Soil Health Coalition attend the event for free (registration is still required)! Registration for non-members costs $20 per person. Click here to learn about all the benefits of becoming a member and join the Soil Health Coalition! Registration for the event closes on June 7th, so don’t delay, register today.
